Founding of RCI Informática, specialized in mainframe solutions, with a focus on Decision Support Systems (DSS).

Shortly after acquiring Informix, in 2006 IBM acquired Cognos, marking the beginning of a long strategic partnership between RCI and IBM.

From 2007 to 2013, RCI operated as a Global BI Factory for Vale, expanding its Services structure to support Vale’s entire operation in
Brazil (RJ, MG, and ES) and in its subsidiaries in Canada, Mozambique, and Australia.

We expanded our partnerships and invested in the transition from a company centered on oneoff projects to replicable and scalable Vertical AI Solutions.

We generated long-term contracts with recurring revenue and revenue predictability, serving major clients in both the public and private sectors.

We focused on the Data and BI market, becoming pioneers in Data Warehouse in Brazil by adapting Bill Inmon’s methodology to the local market.

We became resellers of global BI leaders (Cognos) and ETL (Ardent/Informix) at the time, implementing DW and BI projects for public and private clients.

After the end of the Services contract with Vale in 2013, which was taken over by IBM’s Services area (GBS), we redirected our focus to the public sector, developing the Tax Intelligence Vertical Solution for detecting tax fraud in NF-e using big data, data science, BI, and more recently generative AI.

The solution was implemented in several State Treasury Departments in Brazil, consolidating RCI as a reference in the tax/fiscal sector. We also created FocusKPI, an indicator management solution whose functionalities were later incorporated into IBM products.
